Ptosis and the Breast Lift
Interested in a breast lift? Breast lift surgery is a respected and time-tested type of procedure that can aid in removal of excess tissue and reduce sagging. The technical term for sagging is “ptosis,” and the amount which a breast sags is called its “ptosis grade.”
A person’s ptosis grade is determined by gauging the position of the areola in relation to the inframammary fold (breast fold), or crease. This fold is the area where the breast tissue meets the ribcage. Different amounts of ptosis can occur in each breast, so a person may have a separate grade for each breast.
